Skin rarely has just one thing going on. You might be dealing with regular breakouts while also noticing the first fine lines around your eyes, or your skin may simply feel rough and look a little tired. Booking a separate treatment for each concern soon adds up, which is why we offer the L’Esthetic Peel.

This is a skin peel that works on several concerns in one appointment. It helps soften fine lines, keeps acne-prone skin clearer and smooths out uneven texture, leaving your complexion fresher and more comfortable. At Manchester Aesthetics Clinic, every peel starts with a skin assessment and a chat about your goals, so the treatment suits you before we apply anything.

About the treatment

What Is the L'Esthetic Peel?

The L’Esthetic Peel is a multi-acid chemical peel. Instead of relying on a single exfoliating ingredient, it combines several acids. Each one works at a slightly different depth and on a slightly different problem, which is what allows one treatment to cover fine lines, breakouts and texture together.

When the solution is applied, it loosens the bonds holding dull, dead cells to the surface of the skin. Over the following days those cells shed, and the fresher layer underneath comes through. Regular exfoliation like this also encourages the skin to renew itself more quickly, which helps it stay smooth and healthy-looking between appointments.

The result is skin that looks clearer, feels softer and has a more even tone. It is a step up from a standard facial, with very little downtime, making it an easy treatment to fit into a busy routine.

What's Inside the Peel and Why It Works

Knowing what goes on your skin helps you understand what the peel can realistically achieve. The L’Esthetic Peel blends:

Salicylic acid

An oil-soluble acid, so it can travel into the pore lining where blackheads and spots start. It breaks down the mix of oil and dead skin that blocks pores and has a calming effect on red, inflamed breakouts.

Glycolic acid

The smallest acid molecule in the alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) family, which lets it work efficiently on the surface. It smooths rough texture and is widely used to soften the look of fine lines.

Lactic acid

A gentler AHA that exfoliates while helping the skin hold on to moisture. It balances out the stronger acids and keeps the skin from feeling tight or stripped.

Vitamin C

An antioxidant that helps protect the skin from everyday stress such as UV light and pollution, and gives a dull complexion a healthier glow.

Each ingredient has its own job, but together they clear away surface build-up, unblock pores and support the skin’s natural renewal more effectively than a single acid could.

Benefits of the L'Esthetic Peel

1. Softens the Look of Fine Lines

Regular exfoliation encourages the skin to renew itself faster. Over time, fine lines around the eyes, forehead and mouth look softer and the skin feels smoother to the touch. It isn’t designed for deeper wrinkles and won’t replace treatments for them, but it is an excellent way to keep skin looking fresh as part of an ongoing routine and to slow early signs of ageing.

2. Refreshes Dull, Tired-Looking Skin

Sun spots, age spots, the dark marks left after spots heal and general patchiness all respond well to this peel. The acids lift away the dull surface cells behind uneven skin tone, while vitamin C and kojic acid work on how much new pigment the skin produces. The skin tone becomes more uniform and the complexion looks noticeably brighter.

3. Keeps Acne-Prone Skin Clearer

Salicylic acid gets into the pores to clear congestion, while the peel as a whole reduces inflammation and helps keep oil production in check. That means fewer new spots forming, quicker healing of active ones and a smoother surface once the redness settles.

4. Smooths Uneven Skin Texture

Rough patches, a bumpy surface and visible pores are often caused by a build-up of dead skin. Removing it leaves the skin feeling smooth to the touch, and pores look tighter when they are no longer clogged.

5. Helps Your Skincare Work Better

Once the dead-cell layer is gone, serums and moisturisers absorb more easily. Many clients find their home skincare routine gives far better results in the weeks following a peel.

Who Is the L'Esthetic Peel Suitable For?

This peel is a good match if you have:

It is suitable for adults and many teenagers with acne-prone skin, although under-18s will need parental consent.

When the Peel Isn't Right for You

For your safety, we won’t carry out the treatment if you:

The L’Esthetic Peel is not designed to remove pigmentation such as sun spots, age spots or melasma. If pigmentation is your main concern, book a laser and skin consultation and we will talk you through treatments better suited to it.

Deeper skin tones can be more reactive to any kind of irritation, so we may recommend preparing the skin or starting at a lower strength first. This is one of the reasons we check every client’s skin before treatment.

The L'Esthetic Peel Treatment Process

Step 1

Skin Check

Your appointment begins with a conversation about your skin – what bothers you most, the products you use and any previous treatments. We examine your skin and confirm the peel is safe for you. If you use retinol or other strong actives at home, we will usually ask you to stop them around five to seven days before treatment.

Step 2

Cleansing and Preparation

The skin is cleansed thoroughly and any oil is removed so the peel can absorb evenly. Delicate areas, such as the corners of the nose and lips, may be protected with a barrier cream.

Step 3

Applying the Peel

The peel solution is applied in even layers across the face. Most people feel tingling or a warm, prickling sensation for a few minutes, which settles as the peel works. Your therapist keeps a close eye on your skin throughout and controls how long the solution stays on.

Step 4

Finishing and Aftercare Advice

The peel is removed, then soothing products and a broad-spectrum SPF are applied. You will leave with clear aftercare instructions and can return to work or normal plans straight away.

Recovery and Aftercare

Recovery from the L’Esthetic Peel is usually straightforward, and most clients don’t need to take time off.

What to expect day by day:

Day 1: Your skin may look pink and feel tight, similar to mild sunburn.

Days 2–5: Light flaking or peeling, mostly around the mouth, nose and chin. Some people peel visibly, others barely at all – both are normal and the peel is still working.

Days 5–7: Flaking settles and smoother, fresher skin shows through.

Aftercare that protects your results:

Good aftercare matters as much as the peel itself, especially when treating pigmentation, as sun exposure on freshly peeled skin can undo the progress.

How Many Sessions Will You Need?

You will notice smoother, fresher skin after your first session. Because the L’Esthetic Peel works with the skin’s natural renewal cycle, it gives the best results as an ongoing treatment rather than a one-off. Sessions can be booked every two weeks, which keeps dead skin from building back up, helps keep breakouts under control and maintains a smoother texture.

Many clients fit their peel into their regular skincare routine, in the same way they would book a haircut. Your therapist will talk you through a schedule that suits your skin, your lifestyle and your budget.

Autumn and winter are a good time to start. Sunlight is less intense, so freshly treated skin is easier to protect, and your skin will be in great shape by the time spring comes round.

L'Esthetic Peel or Another Treatment?

The L’Esthetic Peel is a gentle, low-downtime option within our peel range. It is stronger than a refreshing facial but gentler than deeper peels. If your skin needs more intensive work, The Perfect Peel may be a better option, or you can ask about a personalised chemical peel chosen around your skin.

It also pairs well with other treatments. Dermaplaning removes fine facial hair and surface build-up so the peel can absorb more evenly, while microneedling or CO2 laser resurfacing reach deeper concerns such as acne scarring that a peel can’t.
